I went to Tokyu Hands in Shibuya (thank you Hagiwara-san) and found some herb seeds. My Japanese tutor told her mother that I loved to garden, and her mother sent me some small pots and some soil.

My first attempt at gardening will be some simple herbs on the terrace - chives and basil. Is there an herb that is commonly used in Japan that I should try to grow?

Hi all,

Thought I would join your group if you don't mind. Always wanting to learn about new things and I think you Pamela and Hagiwara-san can teach us if anyone can.

Well, I goofed on the herbs - my Japanese tutor showed me that I did buy basil - cinnamon basil. I like cinnamon basil, buy I really want italian/genovese basil. So back to Tokyu Hands I will go to ask:

Dare wa itaria no basilu desu ka?

Hopefully, I will understand the answer!
